1937. It’s been many years since retired New York City police officer William McKenna helped save Broadway from annihilation, and only a few since his life was turned upside-down by the Depression that is wracking the county. Shifting from job to job and seeming completely worthless, he wonders if he will ever be able to feel that he matters again.

That is, until a chance trip down south to the swinging town of New Orleans brings McKenna crashing headlong into Tom Wilkins, also known as the masked criminal-turned-hero The Showstopper, and smack in the middle of a massive conspiracy that holds the entire city in its grip. Teaming up with a gang of street urchins, a fiery Secret Service agent, and even the Showstopper’s resentful teenage son, Wilkins and McKenna will go to war to protect New Orleans–and the entire nation–against a threat too terrifying to imagine.

Because despite all their good intentions, Wilkins and McKenna share a dark secret and a dangerous past.
